Abstract
Early gastric cancer (EGC) is defined as a cancer confined to the mucosa and submucosa (SM) regardless of lymph node (LN) metastasis. Well-known LN-metastasis-related-factors are tumor size and invasion of the SM layer. Metastasis to the LN or any other organ rarely occurs in small and shallow EGC. Signet ring cell carcinoma (SRC) of stomach at early stage usually shows low incidence of LN metastasis and has better survival compared with other types of stomach cancer. We experienced a rare case of mucosal early gastric cancer (SRC) with LN metastasis, multiple bone metastasis and leptomeningeal carcinomatosis.
